Due to frequent absences from class, I really don’t understand what a Web Server actually is.
So, let’s learn together 🙂

Web servers can behardware orsoftware, because the term in information technology is broad.
What is meant by a web server as hardware is a (physical) server computer.
While the web server as software , is an application (program) that is embedded in the server computer, to manage a website.

I will log in to the web server as software.

So simply put, a web server (software) is a house.
A home for the website.
Both storing data and processing commands entered by website users.

Or complicated, this house is in the form of software that serves and provides data-based services and functions to receive requests from HTTP or HTTPS on known clients and we usually know by the name of web browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome) and to send back the results in the form of several web pages and will generally be in the form of HTML documents [ idcloudhost.com ].

Web servers with current technology can translate web programming languages such as php, asp, jsp etc. so that the data presented can be more dynamic and interactive.

Popular web server applications include Apache, Internet Information Service (IIS), Lighttpd, Sun Java, Jigsaw, Xitami and Zeus.

These applications are the ones that will manage their duties as web servers (software).
