Analyst at Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, Tatyana Shishkova, discovered the Joker malware that has infected several apps on Android.
Joker malware is known to tend to infect apps that are popular on the Google Playstore.
Once the app is downloaded, the Joker malware will scramble the user’s device system.
This Joker malware can enter the Google Playstore and bypass the security system by making small changes to the code.
Not surprisingly, this malware often reappears despite Google’s efforts to secure users from it over the years.
If this Joker malware has infiltrated a user’s device, it can secretly steal money by subscribing to online services without the user realizing it.
The malware is also capable of automatically clicking online ads and accessing OTP codes from SMS.
Some applications that have been infected by this Joker malware are quite popler.
In fact, some have been installed more than 50 thousand installations.
